FAQ

How many people can be accommodated?
A maximum of 12 people can be accommodated on the property at any one time, including visitors, children and babies. This is due to septic limitations as well general wear and tear. We have a septic system located at beach level which we cannot overload. We have another property that can accommodate up to 14.

Do you allow pets?
I’m afraid that we are not able to accommodate pets. For this reason, our most sensitive guests are able to enjoy a low allergen environment. There is a pet resort just 5 minutes away should you want to bring your dog or cat to the island.

Do you have any bedroom floor plans available, and/or a layout of the property?

Can we have our wedding here?
Sorry, we cannot accommodate weddings of any size.

Are there any other booking restrictions?
Our family enjoys sharing our vacation home with our guests who appreciate its amazingly peaceful setting and treat the house and property like their own. However, we no longer accept bookings from unrelated groups of young people, for bachelor party weekends, or for parties where alcohol, drugs, or loud music are the major draw. 12 people is the maximum number of guests we can accommodate, including visitors.

Can we tour the property prior to booking?
We have provided this website to answer any questions you may have, as well as provide a “virtual tour” with plenty of pictures. We are not set up for tours and the property is often booked on weekends For longer stays of one month or more, we can sometimes arrange for an on-site visit if requested.

Is there a grocery store nearby?
Yes, there is a wonderful supermarket (the best on the island) about 15 minutes away. They have bulk food, gourmet ingredients, great produce, seafood, and meat dept, a large organic section, artisan breads, and an in house bakery. There are also several smaller grocery stores within 5-10 minutes, near the ferry dock.

What about internet access?
We have broadband DSL and WiFi throughout the property. There is excellent cell phone reception from most carriers on the property as well.

Can we use the community pool?
Unfortunately no. While we have offered to pay additional fees to the Association so our guests could use the pool, the community association would have to change their insurance liability policy to a point where it would be cost prohibitive for them, and the board said no. The playground, tennis courts, and basketball are off-limits for this reason too. We do not advertise these amenities and have tried to provide enough enjoyable activities inside the house and on the property for both kids and adults.

Teak oval table with 10 chairs and long bench seat. Accommodates 10-12 people.

What are the bedrooms like?
Master Bedroom: California King bed with down duvet and pillows and 800 thread count linens, 42” smart HDTV with DVD player, floor to ceiling windows facing the beach. Reading lights on antique bedside tables. Ensuite bathroom with soaking tub, separate shower tiled with travertine and porcelain tiles. Double sinks in travertine countertop. Separate walk-in closet.

Bedroom 2, Second Level: Queen bed ensuite with french linens, large dresser, reading lights and antique side tables, beautiful water views. Down comforter and 300+tc Egyptian cotton bed linens

Bedroom 3, Second Level: The Blue room contains a Queen bed, mattress new in 2015, antique bedside tables, attached closet. Down comforter and 300+tc Egyptian cotton bed linens. Fabulous beach and water views.

Bedroom 4, Second Level: The Bohemian room contains a Queen bed, colorful original art, side tables, and built in reading lights. Down comforter and 300+tc Egyptian cotton bed linens Fabulous beach and water views

Bedroom 5, Second Level: This large bedroom contains a King bed with Pottery Barn shell duvet with down comforter. Also a bunk bed with double bed down and twin bed up. Additional mattress provided in a trundle drawer which can be used in this bedroom or placed in the media room.

Media Room/Optional Bedroom 6, Second Level: Convertible queen sofa sleeper with temperpedic mattress. Slipcovered chair and ottoman. High table with stools for games. 46’ LCD HDTV, Xbox Kinect, and DVD player. Sweeping water and mountain views.

Laundry Room: 2 Large capacity front load washers, and matching large capacity dryer, separate powder bathroom (toilet and sink)

Large covered patio with quality deck furniture: Heavy teak table and 8 teak chairs. Three Adirondack style white rocking chairs. Large stainless steel gas barbeque connected to household propane.

Outdoors: Hotspring Jetted Hot Tub with Ozonator, cover lifter for convenience and privacy.
